Viktor Korchnoi won the rapid seniors Botvinnik Memorial tournament in Suzdal, near Moscow.

The 10-player round robin tournament took place from 15-19 August to mark the 100th Anniversary of the birth of the sixth world chess champion Mikhail Moiseyevich Botvinnik.

The time control was 25 minutes plus a 10 second increment. The great Botvinnik was not a fan of rapid time control games, but hopefully he would have appreciated so many friends and chess fans paying tribute to him regardless!
