Kramnik And Aronian Draw Match 3-3

Lev Aronian and Vladimir Kramnik ended their 6-game training match with a draw to share the honours with a 3-3 final scoreline.

Aronian faced another Berlin defence, but avoided the simplifying main lines by choosing 4.d3. The Armenian held a slight advantage for most of the game in an exciting and dynamic fight, but the tables eventually turned when Kramnik played the exchange sacrifice 31...Rxe3.

Aronian responded actively to the danger, and just managed to find enough resources in time trouble to stay in the game and earn a draw.
