Vladimir Kramnik moved one step close to another Dortmund title after drawing with Le Quang Liem in the 8th round.

Le has managed to draw both games with Kramnik at Dortmund, which is no mean feat given Kramnik's excellent form.

Ruslan Ponomariov once again got the better of Hikaru Nakamura to complete a double-victory over the American.

Georg Meier versus Anish Giri was an interesting fight which slowly dissipated into a draw.
