Dortmund 2010 has had a lot more fighting spirit than last year in round five it positively caught fire!

All games ended decisively, with Kramnik picking up his first win of the tournament against Naiditsch.  Kramnik cleverly trapped his opponent's rook on a4 and attacked it with his king to force victory!

Leko seemed determined to force the issue against Quang Liem, but his attempts backfired as Quang Liem won a nice endgame.

But it is Ponomariov who leads again after recovering from his loss in the previous round to beat a dispirited Mamedyarov is an excellent positional display.

Having reached halfway, the players now have a rest day.  Round six takes place on Wednesday.

Ponomariov, Ruslan UKR 2734
Le Quang Liem VIE 2681 3
Mamedyarov, Shakhriyar AZE 2761 3
