Leiden Tournament 2011 - UPDATED
The Leiden Tournament will run from 7 - 17 July in the ancient university city of Leiden in the Netherlands.
The A Group is a nine-round Swiss competition with more than 100 players competing, and top seed Nikolić Predrag from Bosnia is back to defend the title he won last year.
Games will be played at a time control of 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, then a further 30 minutes to finish the game, with an increment of 30 seconds from the start.
The first round is on 8 July, and there is one rest day on 13 July. Games start at 19:00 local time on weekdays, and 13:00 on weekends, except the final round on 17 July which starts at 11:00.

This evening (7 July) in the Netherlands, the official opening takes place with a special rapid match between 17 year-old Anish Giri and the great former world #3 Jan Timman. The match is currently underway, with live games being broadcast here. Anish Giri won the first game.
UPDATE: Jan Timman won game 2 to level the mini-match at 1-1.
