The rapid tournament in Yerevan has been overshadowed by the death of the Armenian player Karen Asrian, but after a two-day delay the tournament got underway again as the re-named Karen Asrian Memorial, which will now be held every year.

The Hungarian Peter Leko (pictured) is leading the event after 10 of 14 rounds, with 6.5/10, just half a point ahead of Lev Aronian.  Rounds 11 and 12 will be played on Saturday 14 June, and rounds 13 and 14 will complete the event on Sunday 15 June.

Here is a nice win by Alexander Morozevich from round 5, against Britain's Mickey Adams.  The pawn sacrifice 19.f6 led to a neat Kingside attack.  The time control is 25 minutes/game plus a 10 second increment per move.
