Leko defeats Gustafsson to take sole lead

The lead changed hands yet again today in Dortmund as a novelty by Gustafsson, 16.Qb3, in the Queen's Indian did not prove a worthwhile move.  Leko (pictured) took advantage of the resulting doubled b-pawns to eventually win the game.

At the bottom of the standings, poor Loek Van Wely lost again in ugly fashion, this time to Arkadij Naiditsch.  He managed to last a few more moves than yesterday's quick loss, but somehow contrived to have tripled f-pawns at one point.  Oh dear.

Will Leko hang on to win in Dortmund?  The last round is tomorrow.

The results in round 6:

Gustafsson, Jan - Leko, Peter 0-1 45 E15 Queens Indian
Mamedyarov, Shakhriyar - Ivanchuk, Vassily ½-½ 29 E25 Nimzo Indian Saemisch
Kramnik, Vladimir - Nepomniachtchi, Ian ½-½ 39 D11 Slav Defence
Naiditsch, Arkadij - Van Wely, Loek 1-0 26 B90 Sicilian Najdorf Variation
