Yesterday we received in our warehouse a brand new book from our friends at Quality Chess. It is a repertoire book: Beating the Open Games by star author Mihail Marin. You may remember Marin's previous work: "Learn from the Legends". A great book, a modern classic which won the ChessCafe 2005 Book of the Year Award. Marin's new book not only helps Black players who would like to play the main lines of the Ruy Lopez, but fear answering 1.e4 with 1. ... e5 (because of all knives that White could pull on them). Marin is also very good on middlegame positions that arise from the different lines, and simply teaches great strategic lessons. Please, have a look at Beating the Open Games.
