Early leader Ruan Lufei conceded her first draw to compatriot Zhao Xue, allowing Humpy Koneru to defeat Tatiana Kosintseva and share first place with a score of 3½/4.

The local players Betul Cemre Yildiz and Kubra Ozturk lost their games with Ju Wenjun and Anna Muzychuk respectively, while Cmilyte Viktorija outplayed Antoaneta Stefanova.

Monika Socko of Poland is having a tough start to the event, and she blundered in round 4 to lose against Munguntuul Batkhuyag. 

Thursday 20 September is the first rest day of the event, so round 5 is on Friday 21 September.
