Today the two editors doggy and forest had a very unfortunate pairing. We had to play each other. The game was a quick and correct draw, which gave us time to get back to (photo) journalism (yesterday we were both playing a long ending). So now already some pictures of today, the fifth round in the amateur and open group and the third in the crown group.

Veselin waiting for Ivan. Shakhriyar has another look at yesterday's game in the round bulletin. Judit Polgar, together with her opponent at the first spot. From outside the playing hall Judit looks if she is to move already. The playing hall. Because the players are playing with pieces of glass (and Garde clocks!), the games have to be recorded separately for live coverage. Mikhail Brodsky, shared first in the open group and playing against another Mikhail... ...Gurevich.

Now some images of the first amateur group. Our editor oak. Chess player and politician Jan Nagel. Mrs. Paalman-Schonewille is blind but this doesn't keep her from playing a game of chess. Today she plays against young boy Roel Brandenburg. More 'amateurs'... ...like Rinske IJsselhof.
