The #1 Czech player David Navara has played an annual match for several years against a worthy GM opponent, as part of the Čez Chess Festival in the city of Prague.

This year Navara played Armenian GM Sergei Movsesian, following previous matches against Judit Polgar (2010), Vassily Ivanchuk (2009) and Vladimir Kramnik (2008).  Finally, the home crowd had a victory to cheer as Navara beat Movsesian 3½-2½ by winning the fourth game of their six-game match.

The chess festival took place from 12-19 June and was opened by a 30-board simultaneous exhibition from world champion Vishy Anand.
