The 2008 Commonwealth Chess Championship in Nagpur, India, has been won by the English Grandmaster, and former world title challenger, Nigel Short (pictured).

Short took a clear first place with 9.5/11, half a point ahead of his nearest challenger, Surya Shekhar Ganguly.
