Old film footage Max EuweAs the 'Euwe year' comes to an end, we pay tribute once more to the 5th World Champion. Because Euwe won the world title exactly 75 years ago, Dutch broadcast corporation VPRO made available a big number of videos in which you can see Euwe together with players like Alekhine, Botvinnik, Capablanca and others. Historical footage!

We'll give a few examples of what you can find in VPRO's online archive:
  • Euwe-Bogoljubov blitz (1928)
  • Euwe & Capablanka looking forward to the Euwe-Alekhine match
  • Max Euwe World Chess Champion (Polygoon news)
  • World Chess Tournament 1948
  • Euwe vs Botvinnik (blindfold blitz - this video is very good, see photo)
  • Alekhine wins back title (Polygoon news)
  • Euwe-Donner match
