GM Samuel Sevian won week 19 of the Rapid Chess Championship, presented by Coinbase with a convincing performance.

Participating in the event were 45 competitors—now open to all GMs as well as the top-10 women, top-10 juniors, as well as 10 wildcards. The knockout takes place on July 3, starting at 9 a.m. PT / 18:00 CEST.

    Sevian clinched clear first with 7.5 points―a full point ahead of the field―kicking off the tournament with a 4-0 winning streak. There was a four-way tie for second place among GMs Vladimir Fedoseev, Dmitry Andreikin, Vincent Keymer, and Christopher Yoo, each with 6.5 points. GMs Alexey Sarana, Daniil Dubov, and Shamsiddin Vokhidov qualified for Sunday's knockout, tying for sixth to eighth with six points. Former world champion Vladimir Kramnik made his first appearance in the event and narrowly missed qualifying when he flagged in a winning position against Keymer in the last round.
