Round 5 at Biel

What happened to our regular single round victory?  All games in round 5 at the Biel GM tournament were drawn, although Alekseev and Caruana battled it out in Sicilian Dragon that provided some real interest.

The expected game of the round barely started before it was over.  The normally creative and pugnacious Morozevich and Ivanchuk managed just 12 moves before agreeing to share the point.  Did they have something better to do that day?  A great shame.

So at the halfway point of this double-round robin competition, the scores are:

 Ivanchuk, Vassily    UKR    2703  3
 Morozevich, Alexander   RUS   2751  3
 Caruana, Fabiano   ITA   2670  2½
 Vachier-Lagrave, Maxime   FRA   2703  2½
 Gelfand, Boris   ISR   2755  2
 Alekseev, Evgeny   RUS   2714  2
