Ruan Lufei Takes Early Ankara Lead
Ruan Lufei from China has taken an early lead after two rounds of the 2012 FIDE Ankara Women's Grand Prix.
Ruan Lufei won her second round game with Monika Socko to take the sole lead in this 12-player single round robin competition.
The local Turkish players experienced contrasting fortunes. The lowest ranked player Kubra Ozturk lost to Ju Wenjun, but Betul Cemre Yildiz scored a surprise win against Viktorija Cmilyte. The other second round games were drawn.
The Ankara Grand Prix is the final event of the FIDE Women's Grand Prix 2011/12 series, which determines the challenger for the 2013 Women's World Championship.
