ivanchuk11.jpgThe Russian Team Chess Championships took place from 12-23 April in Olginka.

Twelve teams competed in an extremely strong round-robin event featuring players from all around the world, including top rated Vassily Ivanchuk (pictured).

There was also a separate women's team event with eight teams competing.

The SHSM-64 team (from Moscow) won the main event, with a team that included young hired guns Fabiano Caruana and Anish Giri. Caruana had a tremendous score of 8/10 during the tough competition!

The women's competition was a very tight race, won by the HSM-RSCU team headed by Alexandra Kosteniuk.

Giri (standing) and Caruana (seated, foreground) helped Moscow "64" win
