bundesliga_logo_2010.gifThe 2010/11 season of the German chess league, the Schachbundesliga, starts this weekend.

The Schachbundesliga is one of the strongest chess leagues, with foreign grandmasters from all around the world competing for 16 teams.

The dominant force in the league are OSG Baden-Baden, who have won the title for the last FIVE years in a row!

Their team this year includes Peter Svidler, Sergei Movsesian, Etienne Bacrot and Michael Adams so they will be a tough team to beat once again.

The official website has a nice new live interface for broadcasting the games.  The first round games have mostly been completed, and round two takes place on Saturday at 14:00, with round three on Sunday at 10:00 (local time).
