Shirov Wins Match With Laznicka

Alexei Shirov has defeated the Czech GM Viktor Laznicka in a 6 game match played in Novy Bor, Czech Republic from 2 - 8 August.

The first 3 games were draws but Shirov broke the deadlock to win game 4, and sealed the match victory with another win in game 5.  The final score was 4-2 in favour of Shirov.

The time control was 90 minutes for 30 moves, with a 30-second increment per move from the start.
