Short Wins Sigeman Tournament

The 17th Sigeman tournament in Sweden finished with top seed Nigel Short (pictured) the runaway winner with a score of 4.5/5.

This year's edition was a rather short single round-robin event with just 6 players and 5 rounds. Yet so complete was the Englishman's dominance, that he won the title with a round to spare.

However, arguably as notable as Short's performance was the excellent display from the 15 year-old Swedish talent Nils Grandelius, who finished in second with 3/5 despite being the lowest rated player in the field by some margin.

Grandelius is definitely a name to look out for in the future and will surely earn the GM title soon!
