There were no decisive results in the first round of the Tal Memorial in Moscow, but it was a close run thing in several games, notably the clash between Magnus Carlsen and Vladimir Kramnik.

Despite Carlsen having the advantage of the white pieces, it was Kramnik who had the best winning chances, but Carlsen held on despite time trouble to draw a dramatic game.
