Tal Memorial - Round 7
Round 7 of the Tal Memorial was a quieter affair, with the games generally rather less inspiring than the tournament has been to date.
Nonetheless, there was a great fight between Ivanchuk and Gelfand, where the popular Ukranian came out on top. Ivanchuk has taken to wearing a face mask while playing in recent rounds, in order to avoid catching the flu bug that is affecting some players, Carlsen in particular.
His decision to don a mask was understandably met with some mirth from his fellow competitors, but if it helps Chucky stay healthy and win, he will have the last laugh! You gotta love Chucky!
