The Tal Memorial takes place 17-31 August at the GUM Exhibition Hall, located close to the Red Square, in Moscow, Russia.

Results round 2, August 19, 2008 Shirov - Kamsky 0-1 Gelfand - Ivanchuk ?Ǭ?-?Ǭ? Alekseev - Ponomariov ?Ǭ?-?Ǭ? Mamedyarov - Morozevich ?Ǭ?-?Ǭ? Kramnik - Leko ?Ǭ?-?Ǭ?
