The Bulgarian GM Veslein Topalov has won the Dos Hermanas rapidplay event by beating the Spaniard, Francisco Vallejo in the final.

Topalov won the first game and drew the remaining three to take the title.  His good recent form bodes well for his match with Gata Kamsky.

At the post-match press conference Topalov said, “The openings I played at this tournament were especially chosen not to give away anything to Kamsky, because later this year we’ll play the final of the Candidates Matches for the World Championship of 2009. This way he won’t have any clue as to prepare for it.”
