Tribute to Bobby Fischer Memorial simul

A Tribute to Bobby Fischer Memorial and simultaneous was held in Las Vegas on Sunday , March 9, the anniversary of Fischer's birthday March 9, 1943. Displays of key events of Fischer's life were on display for visitors, while an all day simultaneous was held featuring WCF's current (2007) World Grand Master Stan Vaughan who had an excellent day going 228-0-0 against visitors throughout the day. Vaughan who will be defending his WCF title in 2009 in a match  featuring Fischer type rules (First to win 11 games, draws do not count , no adjournments) was in excellent form, attributing it to preparations for that upcoming match expected to be held in Las Vegas starting in September 2009. Vaughan has been

preparing for the match, matching the weight training of his younger opponent, with daily 90 minute Bikram Yoga sessions , weekly mountain hiking at nearby Red Rock and Mt Charleston, and has dropped 25 pounds so far. He hopes to not suffer the physical stamina problems that plagued Karpov in an epic match once against Kasparov.
