Universiade 2011 In Shenzhen
The 26th Universiade (World University Games) took place in Shenzhen, China from 12-23 August.
The Universiade is a biennial international event where university students compete in a range of sporting events including athletics, swimming, football, basketball, tennis, and chess!
The chess element of the games took the form of men's and women's 9-round Swiss tournaments, and it was a double gold medal for China with Li Chao winning the men's competition with 8½/9 and Tan Zhongyi the women's with 7/9.
