Update: Member Evaluation, Leagues, and Rules
Just a few quick words, as well as a few questions for you guys as well. However, I would like to mention that our club is nearly in the top 100 for Vote Chess on the site. Great work team!
Member Evaluation
Recently I have been a bit relaxed about removing inactive members, but I think everyone in the club has had enough time to decide whether or not they would like to participate in any of the games. During this week I will be checking up on the vote chess games, and seeing who is participating and who is not participating at all. Note: if I find you have not been participating much or at all, I will send you a private message, and with no response, you may be removed from the club.
Additionally, I will be re-evaluating the super admin, admin, and coordinator positions, for anyone who is interested. Those go to active and helpful members.
Rules
As some of you know, in the homepage description of our club, I have listed out a few rules. Many of our members are doing a great job at keeping to these rules generally, but it would be great if everyone could take a moment to review the rules, and keep them in mind while participating in Vote Chess games. They're fairly simple and will only take a few moments to read. Thanks!
Leagues
As most of you know, we are participating in a variety of leagues with a variety of time controls. These take up the majority of our games, and most of the other games we have are centered around a specific opening in order to give us all some practice.
As an update for our standings in the leagues, as of yet we have not lost a single game. Out of the 12 completed league games, we have won 11 and drawn 1. This is great work, especially when some of these clubs are large and strong! Our unity keeps us at the top.
In regards to future league prospects, I have heard a few thoughts on whether or not we should continue certain leagues with certain time controls. Our club generally specializes in 2 days (48 hours) per move games, but some leagues require 1 day per move games to be played. So my main question is this: would we like to continue joining league seasons that are 1 day per move in the future, or would it be best for our club to avoid those leagues whenever they come up? Let me know, either in a private message or in the comments of this news post. Thanks!
