Round 2! Live with from the Saint Louis Chess Club and Scholastic Center. Yesterday's games offered dynamic play and questionable moves but the day may bring more fireworks on the board. Big surprise of yesterday was the tournaments youngest player Alisa Melekhina held off Irina Krush with a draw. Irina looked absolutely focused this morning entering the club and had little to say.

Final Results: Both Irina and Iryna win.

Krush wins! Great game, she showed some incredible stay-with-it-ness coming out of a very awkward position. The game was the last finished and Irina Krush will square off against Anna Zatonskih tomorrow.

Video Update: with 3 of 5 games reporting results. Here's a video :)

Results! Another Draw, Melekhina v Baginskaite ends in all tied up and done for. Baginskaite is playing really good chess so far in the tournament, look to see good things from her in coming rounds.

Results! More! Draw between Sabiana and Tatev.

First Resluts in: Zathonskih wins her second game as the tournament favorite gains 2 points defeating Battseteg on time. The game was over regardless after a futile late sac from Tsagaan.

Goletiani vs. Krush, getting weird on this board as Rusa relieves some of the pressure on Irina's king by trading off the aggressive knight for the bishop, with Krush looking at a serious time disadvantage right now.

Goletiani v Krush. Interesting enough in this one Goletiani has yet to move a center pawn as white? We'll see how this hyper modern works out...
