The only decisive game in round 5 was won by Wang Yue of China (pictured) to take him into the joint lead with Alexander Grischuk.  Yue beat Sergey Karjakin with the Black pieces in - of all things - a Berlin Defense to the Ruy Lopez.

The game between Magnus Carlsen and Gata Kamsky ended in a draw by repetition after 51 moves of a Caro-Kann.

Cheparinov gained his first points of the event with a draw against Svidler with the White pieces.  Tomorrow is a rest day.
