The 9th György Marx Memorial took place from 16 - 27 June in Paks, Hungary.

The main event was a 6-player double round robin tournament which was convincingly won by the Polish GM Radoslaw Wojtaszek with a score of 8/10. Wojtaszek worked as one of Vishy Anand's seconds for his world championship matches in 2008 (against Kramnik) and 2010 (against Topalov).

The win will be a welcome boost for Wojtaszek who lost a huge 38 points on the July rating list, but with this excellent result regains 18 points to top 2700 Elo again on the unofficial live list.

A separate women's event in the same format was won by Alina Kashlinskaya of Russia with a score of 6½/10.

The winners! Radoslaw Wojtaszek and Alina Kashlinskaya
