Women's World Championship Semi-Finals Completed

womens%20world%20chess%20championship%202012%20logo.jpg64 players started the event, but after 15 days of the 2012 Women's World Chess Championship knockout tournament in Khanty-Mansiysk, we have arrived at the last 2 players that will contest the final.

Former champion Anoaneta Stefanova will be aiming to regain the title she last held from 2004-06.  The Bulgarian star defeated Harika Dronavalli of India 1½-½ in their semi-final match.

The other finalist is Anna Ushenina of Ukraine who defeated Ju Wenjun of China 2½-1½ in an exciting tie-break decider.  Ushenina won the first tie-break game and rescued a lost position in the second to draw the game and win the match.
