The Women's World Chess Team Championship 2013 is underway in Astana, Kazakhstan. The competition features 10 national teams, with 4 players plus a reserve for each team.

The format is a 9-round single round-robin event from 2-12 March at a time control of 40 moves in 90 minutes, then 30 minutes to finish with a 30 second increment from the start of the game.  Games start at 15:00 local time (GMT+6) and live coverage is available at the official website.

Previous winners China are without their top players Hou Yifan and Zhao Xue, while Russia don't have thew services of the Kosintseva sisters, Nadezhda and Tatiana, following a dispute with team coach Sergey Rublevsky.

As a result of these enforced changes, Russia and China are only seeded* 3rd and 4th respectively, leaving Ukraine as top seeds and Georgia 2nd.
