I think each individual part/module of a lesson might be counted. Also, sometimes new lessons are added and some are removed, and the completed count could contain retired ones.

For some people, chess.com reports a very high lesson total. For example, for this person https://www.chess.com/member/yukikazu chess.com reports that they have done more than 400 lessons. My understanding is that there are less than 150 lessons on chess.com. If I go to "lessons" and look at all the options, the total is about 150. Any idea why it could go above 150? Some people have even higher numbers than that, such as 1000.
