I learned the rules of chess as a kid, but didn't start studying theory until I was 23 (late 2014)          I joined chess.com on 2/28/2015. I'm a "home-grown" chess.com player; I've never played on another site, I've never played in a competitive OTB setting, and I've never had a coach. I have Youtube, Chessable, and of course Chess.com to thank for any progress I may have made since then.
