PRONUNCIATION and SPELLINGS!!

Let's get started:-

When I was a kid of 7 years,our English Literature teacher was very strict about English "spellings''.

English is such a language,where some words don't sound the way you write the spelling. For example,the word "dioxide".When you write the word,it spells like "dioxide".But when you pronounce it,it sounds like "dye-oxyed".

So at the age of 7 years,I focused on spellings more than pronounciation,because I too wanted to get good marks in English.Sooooo,guess what?My smart brain found a technique by which I was able to write the spellings correctly,even though it hindered my pronounciation.

This is how the technique worked:-

For example,the phrase "guinea pig".In order to write the spelling correctly,I used to pronounce the word just the same way as it is written."guinea pig" sounds like "ginnie pig",right?But I pronounced it as "Guinia pig".And I literally got good marks for my spelling!Even though I pronounced in a wrong way,but I wrote the spelling correctly,and it was worth it!

But later,pronouncing in a wrong way became my habit!I literally pronounced most of the English words in a wrong way!Even my friends made fun of me because of my bad pronounciation.

I pronounced "tremendous" as "traymayndouus","electricity" as "ilectrisity",and so on!

Now lemme tell you my adventure with the English words "write" and "right"."write" and "right'' are pronounced in a same way,right?So I often mixed up with these two words.But!But my smart brain found a solution for this problem too!

The solution my smart brain found out is as follows:-

For the pronunciation of a word with a silent letter in it,I never considered the silent letter!Yes,ladies and gentlemen,you heard it correctly!I never considered them as silent!For example,J pronounced "write" along with the 'w'. And therefore,I never got mixed up with these two words!
