Anastasia Bodnaruk is a Russian international master, two-time national junior girls champion, and 2023 FIDE Women's World Rapid Champion. She won her first Russian Junior (U20) Girls Championship as a 16-year-old in 2008, when she also helped Russia take silver at the World Youth U16 Chess Olympiad. In 2012, she won her second Russian Junior Girls Championship, and she also placed third that year at the World Junior Girls Chess Championship.

As a youth player, Bodnaruk won the U12 Girls section of the European Youth Chess Championship. She also finished in the top three in the World Youth Chess Championships, in addition to winning the World U14 Girls Chess Championship. Later in her career, Bodnaruk won the 2015 Russian Women's Blitz Championship, and that year, also won gold with Russia at the Women's European Team Chess Championship.
