GM Gedeon Barcza
Bio
Gedeon Barcza was a Hungarian grandmaster and eight-time national champion. He took back-to-back Hungarian Chess Championships in 1942 and 1943, and then added the others between 1947 and 1966. Well-known for the Barcza System (1.Nf3 d5 2.g3) that bears his name, the acclaimed Hungarian GM represented his country in seven Chess Olympiads and competed against the very best players in the world.
