Bio

IM Malcolm Pein is an English international master who has made his mark in several fields related to chess as a player, longtime chess columnist and journalist for The Telegraph newspaper, and founder and chief executive of the London-based charity Chess in Schools and Communities (CSC). The 1977 British Junior Champion, Pein was also an advisor to the IBM/Deep Blue team in 1997 and has coached England's international team since 2015.

In addition to its work in schools, CSC is the organizer of the London Chess Classic, and of the Chess Fest series of open-air festivals, where you can often find ChessKid representatives in attendance.
