Statistics say that 50% of men and around a third of women had, have, or will have cancer at some point in their lives.

That's a lot of people, yall.

Imagine being the person who discovered that radiation can cure cancer. Imagine being Marie Curie, or Henri Becquerel, or someone else who helped discover the treatment. Do you think they would've kept that quiet? Would they have kept that to themselves? I don't think so.

Sin is the worst type of cancer. When it takes root, if left unchecked, it will spread to every part of your being, and it will affect you negatively. Even something that you do alone, away from human eyes, will still affect you in a negative way. Take the sin of lust, for example. It starts in your heart, then eventually, after you've allowed it to take root, it spreads to your head, and then it completely takes over. This started out in the heart, and now, it's overwhelmed your entire person. Crazy how that happens, huh?

Y'all, we have the cure to this cancer. We all have it, and we all hide it far too much. It's Jesus. The treatment to this cancer is the atoning sacrifice that Jesus made for us on the cross.

I was watching YouTube shorts at home one day and a clip came up of Cliffe Knetchle. He was doing an interview with someone, and he said something during that 30 second video that really hit home with me:

“How much do you think I have to hate you if I believe that Jesus is the way to Heaven and not tell you?”

I don't know about you, but that puts it in a very different light for me.

I struggle with this, too. I have a lot of things in my past, things I'm not proud of, things I wish I could erase, but God has been so good, and He has woven all of those things into the tapestry that is my life. However, that doesn't make it any simpler. It's not always easy to share the Gospel with people: it can be - and very often is - incredibly scary. I get so many thoughts when the Holy Spirit calls me to minister to someone. Thoughts like, “What if I mess up?” or “What if they don't listen?” or “What will people think if I do it?” And yeah, there are times where I chicken out. I'm not proud to say it, but it's the truth, and I can tell you this: every time I've felt the Spirit prompting me, and I've ignored Him, I've felt so guilty afterwards. Not only guilty, but saddened. I know what it's like to be without God. I know what it's like to be at your lowest point. I know what its like to be searching for meaning and purpose. I know what that feels like, so why would I wish that on anybody else when I have what they're looking for inside my own heart? We carry this beautiful gift with ourselves all the time, but sometimes we hide it. Why? Why do we tuck it away and pretend we don't have it? Are we worried about the opinions of others? We shouldn't be. Galatians 1:10 says this: “For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.”

Are we worried about them not listening? Check out 1 Corinthians 3:6-7:

“[6] I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. [7] So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.”

Are we worried about saying the wrong thing? Well, there's a verse for that too: Acts 1:8 “[8] But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

With the Holy Spirit on our side, we cannot fail! I've noticed a change in my life recently, and I praise God for it, since it is Him alone who worked this in me: I am more likely to cry out to God for help when I need it. Whether it be a tense moment with my family, comforting a friend, or yes, sharing the Gospel, I've found myself constantly saying, “God, help me!” Before any interaction, pray. It doesn't have to be fancy. Mine rarely are. God knows what you mean, and He's right by your side before you even finish calling on Him.

1 Corinthians 9:16:

‘[16] For if I preach the gospel, that gives me no ground for boasting. For necessity is laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the

gospel!”

Romans 10:14-15:

“[14] How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? [15] And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!’”
