And yes, beating all the odds and bets, Vishy Anand did it. He was the most solid player by far, not losing any single game and has secured the first place at Candidates Tournament 2014 before the last round. WCH details are all to be known (venue, days, etc.) but there is one thing absolutely sure: Carlsen vs Anand rematch is in the air and will be incredibely interesting to watch, both from chess and psychological point fo view.

Today he played black against Karjakin, one of the few players who still had some chances of winning the tournament. And of course the young Russian tried it hard. Let us see how did Anand play today to secure his victory in Khanty-Mansysk:

Meanwhile, one of the pre-tournament favourites, Levon Aronian, didn´t have an easy day. He needed to win badly today to keep any chance of being the Candidate and certainly must be praised for his original game but Andreikin showed his appearance at this tournament wasn´t any coincidence.

Hoping for some decent games in the last round. See you there and thanks for watching!
