Learn how to defend against the central pawns on the 7 rank. Siegbert Tarrasch stated that rooks should be placed behind passed pawns – either yours or your opponent's.  However, he's later quoted as saying, "Always put the rook behind the pawn.... Except when it is incorrect to do so."
