Beginner players love this tabiya; it's commonly known as the Giuoco Pianissimo, or "Very Quiet Game".

Both players have got their knights out, and their better bishop. The position is level. But what should white do next? Quite honestly, this has always been a bit of a mystery to me.

Not, however, to Francisco Vallejo Pons, who proceeds to develop an accelerating initiative and blow his opponent off the board in the following game. Among the many beautiful games in Test Your Chess with Daniel King, this is the one which made the biggest impression on me, because it shows the gulf between how grandmasters think and how you and I think.
