what up all,

i played the Washington Open recently, and it was gr8. I got 3.5/6 playing in open. Here is a summary of my tourn...

Round 1, I wasn't even on the pairing sheet!! I went to talk to the TD and apparently there was a 1080 from u1400 who was not on the pairing sheet as well. So he simply paired us together. I was white, so i went on to win in 25 minutes.

Round 2, i was paired vs Yogi Saputra, a very strong player from Oregon. here is the game...

GG Yogi.

Round 3, i was paired on board 1 vs FM Nick Raptis(!!) as black. Out of the opening, i was getting crushed. I sacrificed the exchange to try to give myself a chance... and with a little luck, won with a buncha tactics! Here was where the tactical fireworks took place...

GG, Nick.

In round 4, I played FM Roland Feng as black. I decided to play the Adorjan Gambit, cuz YOLO. It worked out well and i had a small advantage in the middle game, but he simply outplayed me on the kingside, and went on to win after a while. GG.

In Round 5, I was paired vs John Doknjas (2150), a strong player from BC, as white. I reached a slightly better middle game, but John defended my attacks quite nicely, and we settled on a draw, though I may have been a bit better.

In Round 6, I was paired vs STRONG NM Daniel He (2250) as black. I got crushed VERY quickly... i blundered very fast vs him... He is very strong... (his username is Mr_Penings on here). GG Dan...

Overall, 'twas a fun tournament! Congrats to Roland for winning first! and thank you all for reading this!
