Brazilian wins World Chess Champion
The brazilian Gláucio Cort Dalla Cella, from Francisco Beltrão city - Paraná state, achieved a fantastic result for Brazil (traditionally the strongest country in football, but not in chess) in the simultaneous playing against the World Chess Champion, the norwegian Magnus Carlsen. Out of 35 challengers, Gláucio was the only one who managed to win his match, becoming an instant celebrity after the game.
But Gláucio was not the only one who did the Mozart of chess to suffer, Israel Kruger (PR), Eduardo Lisbon (RJ), Gerson Costamilan (RJ) and Cicero Cardoso Jr (DF) also made good games and conquered a drawn against Carlsen. The other matches ended with the victory of Magnus, of course.
