Recent OTB Tournament: Game 1

The time control for this tournament was 90 minutes for all moves + 10 seconds / move. I played in the 12-1800 section, even though my rating was only 1114 at the time as I had just won an u-1200 section a few weekends previously and they let me play up. I was 46th seed out of 51.

My first game was on Friday night in Galway, the other side of Ireland from where I live. I made an exhausting 4 and a half hour commute that included a train, two taxis, a short bike ride and lots of walking, so I was tired already by the time the round started at 8pm. I was drawn against a 1477, the 11th seed.
