Handling the Grob

This game occurred at the Hamilton Chess Club Quads on July 24th and was by far my best effort of the day.

1.g4 is a semi-sound opening that does have a lot of practical merit.  For one thing, it creates positions that tend to be rather sharp with lots of potential.  It's correct to face this opening with solid moves, but don't assume that will lead to a solid position.  Be prepared to enter an alley war where castling may be delayed for 20 or more moves.

There were tactical undercurrents at every turn in this game. Some of them are covered in the notes and variations.
