Hidden Gems in Chess 960

Some starting positions in Chess960 include "Hidden Gems". The game I show here features a bishop coming out of the corner to snatch up a pawn and later for a discovered attack. Another fun moment in this game are the castling moves. Just as the king position is getting opened up, the king jumps 5 squares in one move from b8 to g8!

As far as the opening goes, I was probably outplayed and didn't get very good piece placement. My opponent bailed me out by swapping for an inactive bishop.

Welcome to my blog! In the USCF I am rated 1921.

The content posted here is from my real chess experience, either games I've played or observed. I'll try to put an instructive twist on it. So if you're looking for a glimpse into how a B player thinks about the game, check in and see what I've got. Well, recently my rating has gone over 1800, so perhaps I should list myself as class A instead of class B, but it's not a huge difference.
