The Nd5 Sacrifice in the Sicilian

I actually wanted to share one of my most recent games, that which I won against a 2219. In the opening, I blundered a pawn, and since I knew I would have had bad chances a pawn down, I decided to get compensation otherwise--the Sicilian Knight Sac!

A common sacrifice in the Sicilian is placing a knight on d5, which, if black captures it, will open up lines for the white pieces (one of white's advantages in the Sicilian is an advantage in development). Thus, placing your knight on d5 is a sort of Trojan Horse.

My sacrifice was most likely unsound. With simple defense, black could have won the game. But it took one innacuracy by black to turn the tables.

An interesting game, even if full of blunders.
