"American Chess Star" Reality TV Show

I love chess. I hate reality TV shows. I have no idea what to make of the concept of a reality TV show based around chess.

"American Chess Star" is the name of the show. I've watched the trailer below, and I still have no idea what the show will involve.  If it ever gets shown in the UK, I don't think I will be watching. Who am I kidding...it's NEVER going to be shown in the UK!
