1st Place 6-0/2013 Walter Muir section 13W22 [Jul 1-Aug 30 2013]

An another CC Chess Tournament certificate that holds a lot memory; I earned my 3rd CC chess tournament certificate on August 30, 2013.  The Friday before I played in the Southern California Open tournament (Aug 31-Sep 2) , my biggest tournament ever entered for OTB play; it was held at the Town and Country hotel n San Diego CA.

I placed 1st, tied with (4) other strong players in the U1400 section; $375 for (4) of us...  

Why this tournament Certificate is also important to me and held for sentimental reasons, after this four day weekend?  I returned to work on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, and was promoted to a Gunnery Sergeant (GySgt)/E-7 of United States Marines.  This (4) Day Labor weekend, was one of the best I ever had!
